Request a ride to and from San Diego Airport (SAN) with Uber online or through the app. Uber makes it easy to get to and from SAN airport. All Uber drivers can drop off passengers at the main departure level with other traffic. There is no designated delivery area for Uber when arriving at the airport.
Just tell the driver which airline or terminal you're leaving from and they'll drop you off right at the main entrance closest to your airline. The following is from our San Diego Airport page. The driver will pick you up in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, depending on the Uber service you have chosen (see list above). Ridesharing services, such as Uber and Lyft, can drop you off at the departure level, along with regular passengers and taxis.
Notify your driver of the airlines and, preferably, the terminal when entering the airport premises. San Diego International Airport is incredibly busy all year round, so there will always be opportunities for rideshare drivers no matter what time of year. To be dropped off at the San Diego airport, simply request an Uber vehicle as you normally would and enter the appropriate San Diego airport terminal as your final destination. While drivers are on the grounds of the San Diego airport, they will be automatically queued up to receive incoming travel requests.
Upon officially entering San Diego airport property, drivers will automatically enter a virtual “queue” for Uber requests. Not surprisingly, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding this new way of using Uber at the San Diego airport. I hope that everything I've shown and described above gives you a pretty good idea of how to use Uber at the San Diego airport. I admit that I have a bit of social anxiety, and trying to call an Uber at the San Diego airport has always been a difficult experience for me.
Fortunately, this is no longer the situation and the process of getting an Uber at the San Diego airport has just been simplified. As I mentioned earlier, there are two designated Uber pickup areas at the San Diego airport (one for each terminal).
